CERTIFICATIONS EXPLAINED
FilterTier records the standard, exact contaminant claim, rated flow, capacity and whether certification applies to the complete system or only a component.
Commonly associated with chlorine, taste and odor reduction claims.
Specified health-related contaminant reduction claims such as lead or PFAS where certified.
Specified emerging contaminants and incidental compounds.
Residential cation-exchange softeners and hardness-reduction performance.
Ultraviolet microbiological water-treatment systems.
Point-of-use reverse-osmosis treatment systems; part two of FilterTier.
A housing, carbon media or valve can carry certifications that do not prove the complete installed system reduces the contaminant being discussed. FilterTier keeps those separate.
WHAT FILTERTIER RECORDS
PFAS is not one field. We record whether the test covers PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA, total PFAS or another defined group.
A contaminant claim established at 5.7 GPM is not automatically treated as proven at 12 GPM.
The rated gallons or service interval matter because performance is tied to media exhaustion and replacement timing.
We identify when the certification belongs to the finished treatment system versus a housing, valve, cartridge or media component.
Where available, we link to NSF, WQA, IAPMO or another independent certification source.
Certification and performance records can change. Product pages display when the evidence was last checked.
FilterTier translates the evidence into a simple label, then keeps the underlying source available for anyone who wants to verify it.
