Large Homes
Large-home rankings focus on realistic service flow because simultaneous demand is what causes disappointing pressure after installation. Multiple showers, body sprays, large tubs and high-flow fixtures can push demand well beyond what a small whole-house filter can comfortably supply.
The ranking also checks whether a multi-stage bundle is being limited by its lowest-flow component.
These are the current exact-model systems that meet the evidence threshold for this category. The order can change as specifications, certifications, pricing and product lines are updated.

Service or certified flow receives more weight than short-duration peak flow. Connection size, pressure drop, media size and the flow limit of every stage are considered when the documentation is available.
FilterTier only moves a system into a finalized ranked position when the exact model has enough verified evidence for the category. Marketing claims, peak-flow numbers and component certifications are not treated as equivalent to exact-system performance.
Think about what can run at the same time, not total daily gallons. Two showers plus a washing machine can matter more for sizing than annual water consumption.
If a carbon tank can handle 20 GPM but the PFAS cartridge downstream is rated for 6 GPM, the practical bundle flow is closer to the lower stage.
Connection size, bypass valves and installation fittings can affect pressure loss. A high-flow media tank installed through restrictive plumbing will not deliver its full potential.
There is no single number. The correct target depends on fixture flow and simultaneous use, but larger homes often need substantially more than entry-level 6–10 GPM systems.
Use service or certified flow when possible. Peak flow can represent a short-duration condition and may not reflect continuous treatment performance.
No. Larger plumbing helps, but the media, valve, cartridge and validated treatment flow still matter.
