Medium-to-large homes that want true ion-exchange softening, non-electric operation and a twin-tank design that keeps soft water available during regeneration. Current 735 and 935 models are dealer-sized to the home's hardness and water-use needs.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Water enters at the main line, moves through each treatment stage, and then feeds the entire house. The exact hardware varies by model, but the comparison logic stays the same.
SYSTEM TYPE
Non-electric water softener
Sediment or spin-down filtration protects downstream media when required.
Carbon, specialty media, ion exchange, oxidation or another primary treatment stage.
Softening, salt-free conditioning, UV or polishing filters may be separate components.

Check the brine tank and add high-quality water-softener salt as needed. Kinetico advises adding salt when water becomes visible in the brine tank and warns that overfilling can contribute to salt bridging; its current Signature manual recommends filling to about the halfway point to help reduce bridge risk. If the source water contains iron, Kinetico recommends salt with an iron-cleaning additive or an appropriate iron-cleaning agent. Dealer service is recommended if performance changes.
The base Signature Series softener does not use a routine filter cartridge. Kinetico does not publish a fixed ion-exchange-resin replacement interval in the current owner materials. Optional prefilters, if installed, have their own cartridge-change schedule. The current residential limited warranty covers Signature Series parts, resin, tanks and regenerant storage tank for five years, subject to warranty conditions.
Kinetico's current residential warranty lists five years on the Signature Series valve body, brine valve, all parts, ion-exchange resin, bypass valves and prefilter assemblies, plus five years on the polyglass resin/media tanks and regenerant storage tank, subject to stated conditions. Freight and labor are not included, and coverage requires authorized sale/installation plus operation and service according to Kinetico recommendations and applicable codes.
Signature Series is dealer-sized and dealer-priced, so do not assume one family-level flow or capacity number applies to every home. The current manual lists maximum compensated hardness of 40 gpg for the 735 and 60 gpg for the 935, but the authorized dealer's performance data sheet should be used for the installed configuration. Salt/brine and a drain are required. This is a softener, not a substitute for PFAS, chlorine/chloramine or microbial treatment unless separate documented treatment is added.
ORIGIN & MANUFACTURING
FilterTier distinguishes headquarters, design, manufacturing and final assembly. When an exact model's origin is not publicly confirmed, we say that instead of guessing.

RESEARCH STATUS
Verified current Kinetico Signature Series 735/935 family, model/product numbers, non-electric on-demand twin-tank architecture, current 5-year residential warranty, Made-in-USA statement and WQA certification against NSF/ANSI 44 and 372. Exact installed performance remains dealer-sized.
Kinetico's current Signature Series product literature marks the current 735/935 Signature Series water softener family as Made in the USA.

WHY IT MATTERS
Country-of-origin can affect buyer preference, serviceability, parts availability and perceived manufacturing quality — but it is scored separately from filtration performance.
FILTERTIER PRICE TRACKER
We track observed selling prices over time and compare today's price with the system's normal range. Crossed-out MSRP and perpetual “50% off” labels do not count as meaningful savings.

LAST CHECKED
If a system is almost always sold at 40–55% off MSRP, FilterTier treats that sale price as the normal market price and judges value from there.
INSTALLATION CONTEXT
• Main-line size and connection diameter • Available service flow and incoming pressure • Drain requirement / backwash routing • Electrical outlet or UV/controller power • Tank/cartridge replacement clearance • Bypass and isolation valves • Pressure gauges before/after restrictive stages • Floor drain / leak protection where appropriate
The best treatment spec is still the wrong purchase if it cannot be installed, serviced, or supplied with enough flow in your actual house.
